Designs and fabrics from across the country await you at the Sahara Art and Craft Shopping Festival 2009 going on at Marine Drive. A fine combo of tradition and trend, the expo offers the best of handloom and handicraft.

Handcrafted jewellery, fine hand embroidered textiles, beads and zari work on saris and salwars, block print dress material, Hyderabad pearls, Orissa filigree silver jewellery, tussar silk, Rajasthani lac bangles, wood carving and inlay work, khurja pottery, mat weaving and carpets - there are plenty options to pick from. Handmade incense sticks, bags with zardosi work from Gujurat, kitchen set made of wood and silver and household and garden accessories are other items on offer.

There are also stalls with designer pieces featuring costumes inspired by Bollywood. If the fashion statement in Bunty Aur Bubli impressed you, here is your chance to wear it as some stalls have the exact designs. Saris, salwars, patialas, cotton kurtis, tussar silk and Rajasthani tie and dye crepe are the most wanted items. Bed sheets and bed spreads made of block printed cotton with soft contours will definitely lure you. Majestic Mirzapuri carpets hang proud and tall against the walls. Idols of the gods and temple accessories and artifacts too have many takers. The garden sets and sofa sets are perfect for your home. There are also a number of food stalls selling dry fruits and spices from across the country.

This sale is open till 13th December.
