KOCHI: Actor Dileep inaugurated the showroom of Chennai Silks in Kochi on Monday.

Cennai Silks managing director T K Chandran, directors K Vinayakan and K Manickam, and deputy mayor C K Mani Shankar, were also present during the inaugural function.

Chennai Silks has announced a discount of 10 percent for all the goods purchased in the next 10 days. The nine-floor showroom will have separate floors for teen fashions, kids section, men’s wear, ethnic wear and home furnishings besides silk sarees and designer sarees.

The wedding collection ‘Vivaga’ is the most sold and sought-after wedding sari in South India which ranges from Rs 8,000 to Rs 5 lakh.

The Group is also planning to start a gold jewellery section as part of the expansion plans. The showroom is spread over 1,25,000 sq ft has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 60 crore.

The company which has three showrooms in Coimbatore and huge outlets in Chennai, Karur, Tirupur, Thiruchirapalli and Erode has more than 20 lakh sq ft space for sale of textiles making it one of the largest textile retail chains in India.

It has own weaving centres at Aarni, Kancheepuram and Bangalore where designs visualised by famous designers from all over India are woven.
