KOCHI: One of the leading health providers in the state, Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) will open its hospital and surgical centre at Kochi on Sunday.

Chairman-cum managing director Dr M I Sahadulla and executive director C H Abdul Rahim told mediapersons here that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy would open the 125-bed multi-speciality hospital at Pathadipalam in Edappally. People’s representatives and government officials will be participating at the inaugural function.

The hospital is situated near the highway and is easily accessible from both NH-47 and NH-17.

“We provide all specialities, but mainly focus on surgery. We offer 50 percent discount to deserving senior citizens,” they said.

Kochi KIMS will provide services of leading consultants in departments like general medicine, cardiology, gastroenteritis, neurology, ENT, dentistry, nephrology, obstetrics and gynaecology and physiotherapy. The services of medical director and consultant pediatrician Dr Mathew Cherian, Dr Jose Pappanaserry and specialist in arthroscopies Dr Bibu George will also be available.
