Man in the nude protests on MG Road

Express News Service

In a hilarious instance of ‘bare’ anger, a student, suspected to be from the Ernakulam Law College, ran half a kilometre in the nude along the M G Road on Monday, demanding the resignation of K G Balakrishnan, the chairman of the National Human Rights Commission.

The streaking took place at 4 pm, when the student, who had covered his face with a piece of cloth, sprinted along the MG Road from  Maharaja’s College till the Mullassery Canal Road. His accomplice, who was on a motorcycle, helped him flee the scene soon after.

Police officials said that the students have been identified and the procedures for arresting the duo are on. “The number plate of the bike was covered. But we have identified the students, who are from the Ernakulam Government Law College. A team has been sent to take them into custody,” said SI G Ananthalal, of the Ernakulam Central police.

“Streaking is a grave offence and an FIR has been filed with the Ernakulam Central Police. Such incidents were reported from some of the colleges here years ago,” said IG K Padmakumar.
