KOCHI: The ‘Miss Kerala 2012’ beauty pageant will be held on July 28. The organisers of the event ‘Impresario Event Management India’ announced this at the releasing ceremony of ‘Miss Kerala 2012’ calendar featuring the title-holders in the previous edition of the event. Last year’s winner Elizabeth Thadikkaran released the calendar.

“The Miss Kerala event has been a platform for many aspiring young girls to showcase their talents, and we are all set to begin the hunt for a new face as the global ambassador for the 2012 event,” said executive director of Impresario Event Management Ram Menon.

The preliminary rounds would be held in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Kozhikode, Kochi and in Dubai.

The pageant has invited entries from girls of Malayali origin, with either the mother or the father hailing from Kerala. Applicants, aged between 18 to 24, must have a minimum height of 5 ft 2”.

Twenty-two contestants will be short-listed and they will be groomed for one week by an expert panel of achievers for the grand finale. Actress Rima Kallingal and former Miss Kerala Rohini Mariam Idicula were also present at the event.
