KOCHI: A seminar on the language teaching methodologies in Sanskrit will be conducted at the Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College at Valayanchirangara here on Thursday and Friday.

The UGC-sponsored seminar is being oranised by the Department of Sanskrit of the college. Linguist and Sanskrit scholar George Cardona of the University of Pennsylvania will deliver the keynote address. Murali Madhavan, Dharmaraj Adat, Narayanan Namboothiri and Madhusoodanan are among those who will chair different sessions.

Bhasa’s drama Swapna Vasavadatham will be staged by the students of the college. The seminar is intended to provide a platform for discussing the various options that could be included in the Sanskrit pedagogy and also for providing a golden opportunity to young researchers to present their research findings.
