KOCHI: Public Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju on Monday said that the government and the Kalamassery municipality would work together to implement the rehabilitation package for the shop owners at  Kangarapady Junction at the earliest. A memorandum of understanding would be signed on May 10 in this regard, he said at a meeting called to discuss the issue.

“Nearly ten shop owners have already vacated their premises and a decision on the others would be taken at the earliest, representatives of the Vyapari Vyavasayi Sangh informed  the meeting. A 40-cent plot would be identified for relocation purposes.  Those who vacate the premises have  been promised that they would be given shops at concessional rates.
