The police arrested a youth for allegedly misbehaving with a German tourist at Mattancherry here on Friday. The arrested is Sayan Ahmad Malik, 32, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir. He was running an antiques store at Mattanchery.
German citizen Gare Koswald, 23, had to suffer misbehaviour from the shopkeeper. “Gare reached here for the holiday a month ago and was staying at a home stay in Fort Kochi. On Friday, she went to Sayan’s shop to buy a saree. She lodged a complaint that Sayan in the guise of teaching her wear saree misbehaved with her,” police sources said.
Sayan was later released on bail.
