KOCHI:  The Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI)- Ernakulam in association with Friday Club Career Counselling Centre will hold a Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) for students of Std IX to Std XII, at the Friday Club auditorium on April 29.

The student will be tested in seven categories- reasoning, verbal, abstract, numerical, mechanical, space and language (spelling and sentence, each lasting between 10 and 20 minutes). The test is for about three hours.

The scores when analysed with a computer software will give a graph depicting the aptitude of the student. Based on the result the student will be individually counselled by trained CIGI counsellors in the presence of parents.

DAT is a psychometric tool developed by the American Psychological Society to identify the aptitude of school children and decide on job-orientation. CIGI has developed a testing method C-DAT based on Indian norms after conducting DAT on students in Kerala, across the country and those in the Gulf.
