Navaz takes charge of CIAL Air Cargo Complex

S A S Navaz, Deputy Commissioner of Customs has taken charge of the Air Cargo Complex, Cochin International Airport Ltc. (CIAL) from September 1, 2013. He will also hold additional charge of Air Customs (Administration) and Air Intelligence Unit. He replaces Deputy Commissioner C Madhavan and Assistant Commissioner Anil Kumar. 

Navaz is a recipient of ‘Commendation Certificate’ in 1991, from  Manmohan Singh, the then Union Finance Minister for initiating ‘drive against smugglers, foreign exchange racketeers and psychotropic substances’. He has also served as the ‘liaison officer’, deputed by the Customs Department to interact with Cochin International Airport Limited, twice from 1995 till the airport commenced operation in 1999.

Navaz is an international table tennis player and presently is the Hony. Secretary of the Kerala Table Tennis Association and associate and vice-president of the Table Tennis Federation of India.
