Fish Harvest at Pokkali Field

Here is a golden opportunity for you to buy a pearl spot (karimeen) and a Mirgal Mullet (Thirutha)  grown at the Pokkali fields at Kumbalangi Anjilithara Pokkali fields.

The harvest at the Pokkali fields on Saturday at  6.30 am will also offer live fish stock to the public. The harvesting and sale fair will be inaugurated by Kumbalangi grama panchayat president Susan Joseph. The fair was organised as part of the NICRA project by Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI).

The major aim of the project is to offer tasty fishes that are cultivated at the Pokkali fields which are cent per cent organic and thereby branding these delicious fishes. The fair is organised by Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR). Those who want to see the live fishes and buy them directly from the Pokkali fields can contact: 9995354929.
