KOCHI: A few months ago, much buzz was created on the social media after unconfirmed reports of the posting of a young IPS officer Merin Joseph as the ACP of Kochi city went viral. Every post and every tweet regarding her posting were retweeted, shared and liked with frenzy.  A deluge of comments exolting her charm and beauty took the online wateringholes by storm.  The hysteria was so much so that, Merin was forced to denounce the canard and come out with a statement calling it a fake news. And soon, dismayed netizens went their ways. But even before the dust could settle,  the buzz has re-emerged with sinew as Merin Joseph updated her official facebook status informing of her posting as the Assistant Superintendent of Police in Ernakulam Rural limits. On Saturday evening, she posted “First posting news! Will be heading to Ernakulam (Rural) as Assistant Superintendent of Police- ASP (Under Training). Not to be confused with Ernakulam city (Kochi). Lol. Peace”.

“I have received her posting order and it would probably be on January. But I can’t conform as it may be changed later” said S Satheesh Bino, SP,Ernakulam Rural. In the earlier posts, she also requested the cyberworld to refrain from the baseless rumours regarding her posting in Kochi.
