KOCHI: GPS gives you direction to a specific address succoured by satellites revolving the earth by sending and receiving radio waves simultaneously. Time has evolved so much that now you can even get lost while on a long drive, intentionally, without even worrying about remembering your way back.

Yes! GPS or Global Positioning System gives you the freedom to explore the unexplored routes and offers you a much more adventurous journey.

GPS is a fast-moving device presently in the market, which works on a space-based satellite navigation system. In other words, GPS gives you direction to a specific address succoured by satellites revolving the earth by sending and receiving radio waves simultaneously. GPS usually comes with pre loaded maps of the country or state from which you bought it from. You can download additional maps, copy them into a MicroSD card and feed them into your gadget as well. Input your address location and you are ready to go. Some things to keep in mind are: As GPS is loaded with the map of a whole country or several countries, there is a possibility of the address getting mixed up. For example, if you input an address like Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, it is likely to point you to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Or say, MG Road, and the same thing may happen. Ensure that the base address you type in is correct. Even some locations in a GPS  might be saved by their official name, for which people call some other common names. To surpass this, it is advisable to feed in the geographical coordinates (latitudinal and longitudinal positioning). GPS comes in handy during long drives, as it can predict the distance of the destination, the average time consumed and the standard speed at which you are travelling. It even has features which label out 'shortest routes,' 'fastest time,' 'avoid traffic,' nearest petrol bunks, restaurants, hospitals, police station and other emergency stations.
