New Chairman of CII (South Region)

Eastern Group chairman Navas Meeran was elected as the chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) southern region.

Eastern Group chairman Navas Meeran was elected as the chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) southern region.

He has two decades of experience in managing the company which has a turnover of `700 crore. Navas graduated from Sacred Heart College, Thevara in commerce and has undergone management training at IIM. He is also a director with Kerala State Industrial

Development Corporation Ltd (KSIDC) and a member of the Kochi Metro Advisory Group. He was is the former chairman of CII- Kerala Chapter.

“The first priority would be to set up an entrepreneurs’ grooming institute to catapult south India’s industrial growth to the next level. We would set up an organisation to groom first-generation entrepreneurs. The organisation is in the process of establishing start-up villages for woman entrepreneurs, to groom over 1,500 businesswomen,” Navas Meeran said.
