According to witnesses’ statement, the vehicle was a black Pulsar and the person who was riding the bike wore a black T-shirt. Mahi, brother of Thomas, said they have lodged a complaint with the IG. Suresh Gopi arrived at Ernakulam General Hospital and paid last homage to the deceased. He told reporters that Thomas was like a brother to him.

“We have spoken with top police officials and they would trace the persons behind the accident,” Suresh Gopi said. P P Shams, Assistant Commissioner, Traffic East, said: “The surveillance camera fixed at the junction by the Motor Vehicle Department  covers only a distance of four metres. This is why we could not trace the identity of the persons who rode the bike. We are checking the visuals recorded at other cameras as per the time mentioned in the statements given by the witnesses.”
