Onam Turns Sour For Metro Workers

KOCHI: It was a sour Onam for workers of Era Constructions, a sub-contractor of the KMRL, as the company has not paid salary to some of its employees for the last two months. The authorities paid the salary of Malayalee workers when they launched a strike. But, they refused to pay salary to migrant labourers, who constitute the majority of the workforce.Reacting to the situation and shedding light on the plight of the workers, members of the CITU organised an Onam feast for the workers at the Vytilla Mobility Hub. The CITU workers brought food from their homes and treated the migrant labourers, who were deprived of their wages.
