Miss Asia Contest to be Held Tomorrow

KOCHI: The first edition of the Manappuram Miss Asia beauty pageant, organised by Pegasus, will be held at Le Meridian Hotel here on Tuesday.

According to the organisers, the primary aim of the pan-Asia beauty pageant is to bring out and appreciate the genuine beauty and inherent talents of young Asian women.The final event consists of three rounds, wherein contestants from Asia will participate for the tile.Manappuram Miss Queen of India Kanika Kapur will represent the country in the pageant. In addition to India, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bhutan, China, Iran, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Turkmenistan, UAE and Uzbekistan will compete for the title.The winners will be awarded gold-plated crowns, and the title winner will be getting cash prize of Rs 5 lakh. The first runner-up and second runner-up will be awarded Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh, respectively.

Prizes will also be awarded for various sub-categories, including Miss Best National Costume, Miss Beautiful Miss Hair, Beautiful Smile, Miss Beautiful Skin, Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Congeniality, Miss Personality, Miss Catwalk, Miss Perfect-10, Miss Talent, Miss Viewers Choice and Miss Photogenic.

The three sequences include the national costume round, theme round and black and white gown round.  The event will be judged by a panel of national and international judges chosen specifically from various fields, including showbiz, corporate and entertainment. According to the organisers, the mission of the event is to support Ajit Ravi’s ‘100 Life Challenge’, which aims at saving 100 lives by performing heart surgeries on deserving patients.
