Japanese Honour for T K A Nair

KOCHI: T K A Nair, managing trustee of Citizens India Foundation, was honoured by Government of Japan with ‘Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star’. On the invitation of Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, Nair received the award at a function held at Imperial Palace in Tokyo. He had served as the Chief Secretary of Punjab. He later served as secretary in the PMO during the terms of PMs I K Gujral and A B Vajpayee. He had also served as Principal Secretary to PM Manmohan Singh.

Earlier he had received awards including Excellence in Bureaucratic Service instituted by World Malayalee Council, Mar Gregorios Award by Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios Foundation and A K Nair Memorial Award by A K Nair Memorial Endowment Committee.
