First CBCT Machine at Dental College Launched

KOCHI: A new CBCT (Cone-beam Computed Tomography) machine has been installed in the Oral Radiology and Radiology Department of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. School of Dentistry, Dr Beena Varma, Professor and Head of the Department of Oral Radiology and Radiology and other professors and doctors attended the function. The CBCT is an advanced version which helps in planning orthodontic treatments and many other common functions. It  involves a smaller system and the X-ray beam is limited. Accurate images are obtained. The scan time is rapid. A lower radiation dose is used. The display modes are exclusive to dentofacial imaging. There are fewer imaging artifacts.
