KOCHI: All contemporary issues of the world came under the single roof of Durbar Hall Art Gallery, Kochi, and each picture reverberated the theme ‘Alert Not Alarm’. An exhibition of paintings that are ‘Unpresentable in Presentation’ is a visual treat and has been  compiled by 12 artists, curated by Seethal C P, art history lecturer, Dept of Painting, Sri Sankaracharya College, Kalady.

“Fulfilling the duty of curator in theorisation, the pictures depict the concept of generating terror in all visuals around us that are more invisible these days,” says Seethal. An art connoisseur is welcomed to the exhibition by the paintings created by Saju Mannathur titled ‘in side view’.  These are a series of art works created using charcoal on paper. ‘Butterfly Museum’ by Suresh K Nair echoed environmental issues and was thought provoking enough.

The insecure feeling that the present generation feels has been depicted in the paintings of Ashok Kumar Gopalan titled ‘Do Not Take Diversions’. A 3D work by Anudev Vasundhara, ‘Kuzhi’ - a pit left behind after the removal of an ancient tree grabbed the attention of young art lovers. Querozito De Souza used animals and mythological characters in ‘Desire to Wings’ to show the desire of the people to escape worldly qualms. The exhibition will come to an end on Wednesday.
