KOCHI: The Brotherhood is a people that have existed for three millennia. They lurk in the shadows, to keep an eye on the evil forces that target the innocent. And all these years, they have succeeded at this, until now. Gabriati is the legendary Preceptor and the deadliest assassin the Brotherhood has ever seen. At a time where religion is used to exploit the believers, Gabriati rises against all odds.

One of the strong points is the style of writing. Sreyus cleverly portrays his main character, Gabriati, as the saviour and the traitor, leaving the readers highly curious. The plot is well defined with other characters taking the front stage at significant times. Sreyus carefully unveils the plot from the perspective of different characters, effectively avoiding monotony from creeping in.

Another notable feature is the way Sreyus has drawn out the supporting characters. Each of them has a personality of great depth and a significant role to play.

In this era when religions fight each other to gain superiority, Sreyus boldly, through his novel, reminds the world to throw caution against the wind. Religion is to uphold  humanity, and not the other way around.

Sreyus Palliyani, a Malayali, grew up in West Asia, studied at Government Engineering College, Thrissur, and got a Masters from the National University of Singapore. He works there as a Research Engineer.
