KOCHI: Real estate developer Confident Group will invest around Rs 450 crore in affordable housing projects in Karnataka and Kerala, said chairman Roy C J.

“The starting price of the 2BHK homes, branded as Smile Homes, is Rs 26.5 lakh. Over 1,000 homes will be built across Kerala and around 3,000 in Bengaluru. In addition, 1,500 homes are planned in Kerala in the next phase. With buyer-friendly special schemes, the homes will be compliant with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana,” Roy said.

In Kerala, the projects will come up in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kottayam.

The first project will come up at Chenkottukonam in Thiruvananthapuram.

“Smile Homes will create around 3,000 new jobs in Kerala, and open up fresh opportunities for engineering graduates. Various allied industries will also benefit from the projects,” said Confident Group managing director T A Joseph.
