KOCHI: Film producer Tomichan Mulakuppadom on Monday approached the Kerala High Court seeking a CBI probe into the illegal uploading of Dileep-starer film ‘Ramaleela’ on the internet and social media.

The petitioner submitted immediately after the release of the film, a mafia titled ‘Tamil Rockers’ posted the pirated version of the film on Youtube and other websites.

In fact, the mafia behind this is based in Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Though he had lodged a complaint with the state police chief and Cyber Cell, no action was taken.

Various pirated films were being uploaded on the internet soon after their release. The unauthorised uploading of films has affected the economy of the film industry, the plea stated. The petitioner also sought a directive to the police to produce the entire files regarding the investigation of anti-piracy cases before the court.
