Gold worth Rs 18 lakh seized at Nedumbassery airport

The Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs Department has seized gold worth Rs 18 lakh from two passengers in separate incidents at the Nedumbassery airport on Saturday.

KOCHI: The Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs Department has seized gold worth `18 lakh from two passengers in separate incidents at the Nedumbassery airport on Saturday. In the first incident, the Customs officers seized three gold bars weighing around 100 gm each from a passenger who arrived from Bahrain early on Saturday. The gold was worth `9.25 lakh.

In another incident, a passenger who arrived in an Indigo flight was caught with four gold bars weighing 294 gms of gold.
