THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Mohanlal bagged the Best Actor Award instituted by the Kalakeralam Film Awards - 2007.  He was selected for his performance in the film ‘Paradesi’. Actress Kavya Madhavan was selected as the best actress for her performance in the film ‘Nadiya Kollappetta Rathri’.  The awards were announced at a press conference here on Saturday.

 ‘Ore kadal’, produced by Vindhyan, secured the best film award. Shyama Prasad was selected as the best director while Sreenivasan bagged the award for the best screenplay.  ‘Katha Parayumbol’, produced by Mukesh and Sreenivasan, bagged the award for the best popular film.

 The other winners are: best cinematographer - S.Kumar (Calcutta News), best second actor - Naren (Ore Kadal), best second actress - Lekshmi Gopalaswamy (Paradesi), best comedy artist - Suraj Venjaramoodu (various films), best music director - M.Jayachandran (Nivedyam), best lyricist - Anil Panachooran (Arabikatha, Katha Parayumbol), best debut actor - Vinu Mohan (Nivedyam), best debut actress - Bhama (Nivedyam), best male singer - Vijay Yesudas (Nivedyam), best female singer - Bombay Jayasree (Ore Kadal), special jury award - Vineeth (Rathrimazha) and Suresh Gopi (Nadia Kollappetta Rathri).

 The winners of Kalakeralam Television Awards 2007 are: best serial - Madhavam (Baiju Devaraj), best director - Saji Surendran (Madhavam), best actors - Ganesh and Sreenath (Madhavam), best actress - Archana (Ente Manasaputhri), best telefilm - ‘Katti’ (Shanker), best second actor - Cherunniyoor Babu (Sandhya Lekshmi), best second actress - Sona Nayar (Ente Manasaputhri), best cinematographer - Anil Nair (Madhavam), best screenplay - K.V.Anil (Manaporutham) and best interviewer - Johny Lukose.
