The RSP (B) led by A.V.Thamarakashan will merge with the JSS on June 28 at a function to be held in Thiruvananthapuram.

Thamarakshan said here on Wednesday that his party took the decision to merge with the JSS as that party was ``committed to the ideology of social justice.’’ On issues like comprehensive development and conservation of environment, both the parties have identical views, he said.

``JSS leader K.R.Gouri Amma is one of the rare leaders who upholds values both in politics and private life,’’ Thamarakshan said.

He said the RSP has degenerated into a party which has no able leadership. The party always succumbs to the big brother attitude of the CPM towards the LDF constituents. Though there was a proposal few months ago for the merger of RSP(B) with the RSP, it was dropped as the latter was found to have ``no future.’’ The factions led by Shibu Baby John and Babu Divakaran could not be considered as political parties as they are confined to a few pockets only, he said.  Commenting on the reservations expressed bv M.V.Raghavan and Shibu Baby John on RSP(B)’s merger with the JSS, Thamarakshan said that it was the internal affair of the JSS and the UDF had nothing to do with it.

He said no offers have been made to him by Gouri Amma and the RSP(B) workers will function as ordinary members of the JSS.
