THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The pro-Congress Government College Teachers’ Organisation (GCTO) has decided to organise an indefinite strike against the non-implementation of UGC scale.

GCTO general secretary S.A.Shajahan said in a statement here on Monday that the Organisation would launch an indefinite strike if the Government failed to implement the UGC scale along with the December salary. Education Minister M.A.Baby has failed to honour the earlier assurance of implementing the UGC scale from Onam, he said.

The UGC scale was to be implemented from January 2006.

However, the order was not issued even after a lapse of 47 months, the statement said.
