THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Filmmaker Venu Nair’s documentary ‘Farming our Future’ has been selected for the Recycling Fond award at the 36th International Festival of Sustainable Development Films-ekotopfilm 2009.

The award will be given away at a ceremony to be held at Zrkadlova in Bratislava, Slovakia, on October 23.

‘Farming Our Future’ depicts the ill effects of chemical farming and the role of organic farming in the creation of a healthy world.

The 25-minute-long film has also been selected to the 5th biennial International Nature Film Competition Vaasa, Finland 2010 and 15th International Environmental Film and Video Festival Seia, Portugal 2009 in the competition section, in addition to many other film festivals in India.

He has won the National Award for the Best Tourism Film for the documentary ‘The Mythology of Aranmula Metal Mirror’, on the making and the legend of the Kerala’s famed Aranmula metal mirror, for the year 2006-07 from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, as well as three state awards.
