Nine Malayalam films for IFFK

Nine Malayalam films, two in competition section and seven in Malayalam cinema section, will be screened at the 17th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), said Chalachitra Academy chairman Priyadrashan. IFFK will be held from December 7 to 14.

‘Bhoomiyude Avakashikal’ directed by T V Chandran and ‘Shutter’ directed by Joy Mathew will be screened in the international competition section. Films in the Malayalam cinema section include ‘Akashathinte Niram’ by Dr Biju, ‘Ee Adutha Kalathu’ by Arun Kumar Aravind, ‘Indian Rupee’ by Ranjith, ‘Ithra Mathram’ by K Gopinath, ‘Ozhimuri’ by Madhupal, ‘Chayilyam’ by Manoj Kana and ‘Friday’ by Lijin Jose.

The films were selected from by a jury headed by Sibi Malayil. Other jury members include P P Govindan, Madhu Kaithapram, M F Thomas, George Mathew and Bhavani Cheerath.
