Manacaud Teachers' Training Institute gets e-toilets

Express News Service

In an attempt to generate awareness about hygiene among school children, two e-toilets have been installed at Government Teachers’ Training Institute in Manacaud here.

T N Seema MP inaugurated the e-toilet units on Wednesday. They were constructed using the MP’s Development Fund.

The toilets were decorated with the ‘Green Army Cartoon’ characters, created by Eram Scientific Solutions along with Toonz Academy. These cartoon images, along with hygiene messages, appear on the e-toilets.

The e-toilets are designed with automatic doors and napkin incinerators. Provisions are also made for automatic flush and access control and power-washing mechanisms. An SMS alert facility is also made available that connects with the control room for emergencies.

The inaugural function was chaired by PTA president of the school Lenin Antony. School principal Lissi Kuriakose, ward councillor Vijay Kumar and school supporting group chairman Karamana Hari also attended the function.

With this, the total number of e-toilets installed in the city using Seema’s MP’s fund has reached eight, including the e-toilets installed earlier at Shangumugham; Karthika Thirunal School, Manacaud; and Putharikandam Maidan.
