Jayaprabha Menon, eminent Mohiniyattam exponent, choreographer and director of International Academy of Mohiniyattam, New Delhi, has been conferred with the Devadasi National Award 2013 for Mohiniyattam, instituted by Devadasi National Dance Festival Committee-Bhubaneshwar for her outstanding services and achievements in the field of Indian Classical dance form. She hails from  Kozhikode.

  ‘’This is the first time I am getting such an honour and I am thrilled,’’says the artiste. Arun Kumar Sahu, Minister for Energy, Information and Public Relation, conferred the title to seven other dancers apart from Jayapradha.

Other recipients include Sujatha Mahapatra for Odissi, Rama Vaidyanathan for Bharathanatyam, Shallu Jindal for Kuchipudi, Anita Sharma for Sattriya, Vidha Lal for Kathak, Kottakal Devadas for Kathakali, Dr Sohini Ray for Manipuri and Rupasree Mohapatra for Mahari dance.
