The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has taken yet another stride in its attempt to become more people-friendly in a hi-tech way.

MVD has uploaded WhatsApp software, the latest among the fast communication methods, a cross-platform mobile messaging application that allows one to exchange messages without paying for it, in the mobile phones of its officials so that the public can lodge their complaints through it. The people can upload their complaints on traffic rule violations, share information and add suggestions through WhatsApp.

Transport Commissioner Rishi Raj Singh, in a press note issued here on Friday, said that the facility would be available in his mobile number also.

‘’People can make use of the facility in my number - 8547639000, also,’’ the release said.

Regional Transport Commissioners have been directed to take appropriate action on the information or complaints received through the application.
