THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The delay in the completion of the work of the Thampanoor bus terminal is due to the hurdles in handing over the land where the construction is going on to the  company concerned, Minister for Transport Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan told the Assembly on Monday.

In a written reply on the reason for the delay in completing the work of the entrance of the terminal which is causing much hardship to the public and difficulty for the buses to enter the terminal and garage attached to the bus station complex, the Minister said that it was beyond the control of the Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation (KTDFC). The project is a joint venture of the KTDFC and the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, being implemented on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) concept.

Also, the work of the entrance is being delayed as the Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project (KSUDP)  is unable to complete the work of the canal in the area. It will take time to finish the work of the bus parking area near the garage and the disembarking platform, the Minister informed the House.
