Repeal Banking Amendment Bill: AIBOC

The All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) has demanded that all old generation private sector banks should be nationalised since they are involved in financing government-sponsored schemes like public sector banks.

The 10th national triennial conference the confederation being held here also demanded that working hours be fixed for bank officers and a five-day week be implemented in banks.

The conference also asked the government to repeal Banking law amendment Bill.

The meet demanded early revision of wages and pension of bank employees.

The conference asked the state and central governments to invoke stringent laws to control the spread of NPAs in banks and publish the details of defaulting borrowers in public domain. The meet also protested against the Khandewal committee report.

Around 1500 delegates participated in the conference, which was inaugurated by CITU president A K Padmanabhan.

Office-bearers Elected

Y Sudarshan (SBI) and Harvindhar Singh (Bank of India) have been elected  president and general secretary of the All- India Bank Officers’ Confederation.

B B Kaul (Bank of India) was elected the treasurer. K Nanadakumar (IOB), G V Manimaran (Canara Bank), Dileep Saha (PNB), B K Avasthi (SBI) and Dinakar Ounja (Syndicate Bank) were elected as senior vice-presidents.
