Fellowship for S Sivadas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Veteran science writer Prof S Sivadas has been chosen for the newly instituted P T Bhaskara Panicker Emeritus Fellowship for science writing and communication by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE). He has authored more than 150 books.

The fellowship offers a monthly grant of Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000 per annum for buying books. The award is named after P T Bhaskara Panicker who was one of the leaders of the movement to popularise science in Kerala, said KSCSTE Executive Vice-President V N Rajasekharan Pillai.

As part of the fellowship, Sivadas will author science books for publication by KSCSTE. He was selected for the award by a panel consisting of C G Ramachandran Nair, J V Vilanilam, K Kunhikrishnan and K K Krishnakumar.
