THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : State Institute of Languages awards for the year 2013 have been announced.

 Manoj Mathirapally’s ‘Keralathile Adivasikal- Kalayum samaskaravum’ and R Sreekumar’s ‘Koodiyattom’ have bagged the N V Krishna Warrier award for knowledge literature.

 A jury comprising C G Ramachandran Nair, A Prabhakaran and Shibu Sreedhar selected the awardees.

 Sundaram Dhanuvachapuram bagged the M P Kumaran award for translation. His ‘Tagore Kavithakalude vivarthanam’ earned him the award.

 The award winner was selected by the jury comprising M P Sadasivan, Vilakudi Rajendran and S Satheesh kumar. K K Sivadas’ ‘Samskaravum sahithyavum’ earned the K M George award for criticism.

 A jury comprising D Benjamin, K Prasannarajan and Ravisankar S Nair selected the awardee.  The award for best novel in the name of Vaikom Mohammed Basheer went in favour of U K Kumaran’s ‘Thakshakankunnu swaroopam’. B Murali’s 100 stories bagged the award for short stories.

 The awards will be distributed in November during the International Book fair.
