Vayalar Music Awards Presentation Today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Music composer M K Arjunan, singer Vani Jayaram and lyricist and filmmaker Sreekumaran Thampi would receive the Vayalar Rama Varma Awards at a function to held at Co-Bank Towers at 5 pm on Monday. The awards will be presented by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

“Singers Lalitha Thampi, Latha Raju, Ayiroor Sadasivan and Sreekanth, among others, would be honoured by Minister V S Sivakumar at the function,” Vayalar Rama Varma Samskarika Vedi president Jayasekharan Nair said during a press meet here the other day.

The award presentation will be followed by a musical programme ‘Neela Nishidhini’ led by 27 singers.

The programme would include songs of Vayalar Rama Varma, Sreekumaran Thampi and M K Arjunan. A floral tribute would be paid at Vayalar Rama Varma square at Vellayambalam at 10 am on Monday by V S Sivakumar, K Muraleedharan MLA and Mayor K Chandrika.
