President Police Medals for 5 Kerala Cops

Five police officers from the state have been selected for the President’s police medals.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Five police officers from the state have been selected for the President’s police medals.

Kottayam district police chief M P Dinesh has been selected for the medal for distinguished service. DIG Intelligence P Vijayan, Rapid Response and Rescue Force commandant A V George, DySP S Sasidharan (now on deputation in UN mission) and Thiruvananthapuram city special branch assistant commissioner Reji Jacob were selected for the medals for meritorious service.

IG Prison headquarters H Gopakumar has won the President’s correctional service medal. Fireman Chithendran, who died during rescue operation in the Pampa river in 2013, will be awarded the President’s Fire Service medal for gallantry posthumously. Kerala Fire and Rescue Services Academy Director Technical E B Prasad and driver-mechanic A T George have also been selected for fire service medals for meritorious service.
