T'Puram: Thiruvananthapuram District Bodybuilding competitions will be held at Central stadium on December 13. The competitions are being held under the aegis of the Trivandrum Body Building Association(TBAK). The competitions in the 25 kilo weight category for sub-junior, junior, senior, masters and physically challenged categories will be held. Further, there will be model/athletic physique competitions which will be held for men and women above the age of 16 years.
Those who are selected in this competitino will be qualified fro contesting in the state body building contest to be held in Kannur on February 20 and 21. The winners will be allowed to represent the state in Mister India and Miss India fitness contest.
The district contest will be inaugurated by Devaswom Minister V S Sivakumar. Former Sports Council president Padmini Thomas will light the ceromonial lamp. Sports Council president Anju Boby George, Binu George Varghese and D Mohanan will present the prizes.
Those who win the Senior Mister Trivandrum title will be given a Centuro Rockstar Bike. T V Pauly, general secretary, BBAK and other national judges will be controlling the contests.
The clubs in the district will have to register before 10 am on December 13. Around 300 contestants from 100 clubs will be participating in the contest.
TBBA secretary S Suresh Kumar and President S Sudhakar said winners from contests like this would be eligible to get concessions for school, college admissions, PSC recruitment and railways.
They also exhorted the clubs to enroll the clubs which has not yet registered with the TBBA.
The stage performance of national title holders ( Model/ Athletic) will be held as part of the contest.
