Asianet Film Awards were declared and distributed in the presence of prominent figures from the field in a function held at Kochi. Mohanlal and Mukesh, who has completed 33 years in the industry, were honoured at the event.

‘Iyobinte Pusthakam’ was declared the best film while ‘Banglore Days’ bagged the award for the most popular film. Mammootty was adjudged the best actor for his performance in ‘Varsham’ and Manju Warrier won best actress award for her comeback film ‘How Old Are You?”. Kunchako Boban received the youth icon award while Dulquar Salman bagged star of the year award and Fahad Fazil won performer of the year award. Jayaram was declared Asianet golden star.

The event was attended by many stars including Dileep, Meena, Balachandra Menon, Lena, Honey Rose, Keerthi Suresh, Manoj K Jayan, Kalpana, Abhirami, Navya Nair, Asha Sarat, Isha Talwar, Nikki Gilrani, Remya Nambeesan and Suraj Venjaramood.
