THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Women’s Commission chairperson M C Josephine has sought a report from the police after she was prevented from visiting Akhila alias Hadiya whose recent conversion to Islam triggered a row.

The girl’s father expressed his displeasure when police informed him about a meeting with Josephine. The women’s panel chairperson disapproved the stand of Hadiya’s father that only those people cleared by him should visit his daughter.

Josephine hoped the present situation would change after Hadiya is produced before the Supreme Court.
