THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Who wants to queue up before cinema theatres anymore? The Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) is joining the likes of online ticketing platform Bookmyshow to ensure better ticketing services to moviegoers.

An online ticket booking facility will be introduced at the Kalabhavan Theatre at Vazhuthacaud from Wednesday. Initially, it will be on an experimental basis, KSFDC officials said.

Filmgoers can avail the facility by visiting keralafilms.gov.in. The initiative is part of a government scheme for implementing e-ticketing in cinema theatres in the state, KSFDC managing director Deepa D Nair said.

KSFDC officials said the facility would be extended to other theatres in the state as well depending on the response. Information Kerala Mission has developed the software for the project.
