Gopinath Ravindran assumes additional charge as Kannur University Vice-Chancellor

Kannur University Vice-Chancellor Gopinath Ravindran assumed the additional charge of Vice-Chancellor,  Kerala University, on Saturday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kannur University Vice-Chancellor Gopinath Ravindran assumed the additional charge of Vice-Chancellor,  Kerala University, on Saturday. The Governor had given Ravindran the additional charge after the term of former Vice-Chancellor P K Radhakrishnan came to an end on Friday.Registrar R Jayachandran welcomed Ravindran with a bouquet. College Development Council director M Jayaprakas, Controller of Examinations K Madhukumar, Planning and Development Director Mini Dijo Kappan and other senior officials of the university and union members were present.

After assuming charge, Ravindran said his focus would be on the timely conduct of examinations and improving the quality of research. He also held discussions with the Syndicate members and statutory officers.Ravindran, who has served as head of the Department of History, Jamia Milia Islamia and as member secretary for Indian History Council, has also authored many books. He completed his studies at St Stephens College, New Delhi, and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He is a recipient of a doctorate from JNU and postdoctoral degree from London School of Economics.
