Andhra Pradesh temple plans special yagam to appease Goddess for achieving the special category status

VIJAYAWADA: At a time when almost all the political parties and organisations in the State are up in arms demanding special category status for the State, the trust board committee of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, Indrakeeladri, has decided to perform special pujas to appease Goddess Kanaka Durga for achieving the special tag. The decision was taken by the trust board committee of SDMS on Monday.  

Addressing a press conference, temple EO M Padma said that the special  ritual -- Athi Rudra Maha Chandi Yagam -- would be performed by the temple vedic committee at the hill shrine from May 3 to 7.
The committee also passed resolutions for the appointment of Emani Siva Nagi Reddy of Archaeology Department as consultant to protect the temple, auctioning of three old buses and allowing taxis on the ghat road.It also finalised tenders for making and selling laddu and Pulihora Prasadam, she said.
