VIJAYAWADA:  The Tourism department has decided to modernise Gandhi Hill in association with Gandhi Hill Foundation to attract tourists to the place where the father of the nation once walked.
The hill has been out of the Tourism Department’s radar for years, and it has now been decided that the historically significant place should be developed to increase footfall.

In the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority meeting held last Friday under the chairmanship of Mukesh Kumar Meena, Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture, it was decided that an estimated amount of Rs 5 crore will be spent on modernization works. Meena said Bhavani Dweepam will also be modernized along with Gandhi Hill since it is attracting a lot of tourists.
