KARIMNAGAR: It seems that illegal money will always find a way to flow. In a tip-off from a reliable source, the Election Watch suspects that a certain political party has been transporting unaccounted cash in police vehicles to villages in the district, allegedly, for the purpose of influencing voters.

District convener of Election Watch, N Srinivas, in a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer, requested him to direct election staff to search police vehicles, ambulances and government-owned vehicles at the check-posts set up in accordance with the Model Code of Conduct. He lauded the Election Commission’s effort to curb unethical and illegal electoral practices in the State.

Meanwhile, he also insisted that police and government vehicles and ambulances be searched with all the other vehicles at check-posts.

He requested the commission to appoint a team of inspectors to take up this responsibility. District Election Officer and collector Sarafaraz Ahmed announced that the process of nomination will commence on November 11 and go on till 19, he said.
