This year has seen a resurgence in Stephen King adaptations. After the success of IT and Netflix’s Gerald’s Game and 1922 adaptations, Paramount has confirmed a remake of Pet Sematary which was made in 1989, based on the novel of the same name which hit the stands in 1983.
While IT director Andrés Muschietti expressed interest in working on this remake after helming IT: Chapter Two, Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer have now been confirmed as the directors. The director-duo previously wrote and directed the 2014 horror film, Starry Eyes.
Matt Greenberg and David Kajganich have written the script for the remake, which is centered on a pet cemetery that brings dead humans and pets back to life.
