THEIR dreams came true after a year-and-a-half when maestro A R Rahman launched the Ooh la la la music album here in the city on Friday. A nationwide music band talent hunt (both in Tamil and Telugu), Ooh la la la, has been on air on Sun TV. At the grand finale, A R Rahman chose all the six finalist bands - Zinx, Oxygen, V3, Agam, Madras Tunes and Shrishti in Tamil and all the three finalist bands - Catharsis, Band of Brothers and Audio League were adjudged winners in Telugu.

An album by Saregama, Ooh la la la has tracks performed by all the winners. Besides the music launch, the function also saw the soft launch of Sing Along Rhymes, which comprises a volume of Nursery Rhymes. A unique initiative by Saregama and Rahman’s K M Music Conservatory, Sing Along Rhymes would be created under the supervision of Rahman.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahman said, “I’ll take extra care for Sing along Rhymes and make sure it’s world-class production coming from India.” Talking about the album launch, Rahman said, “It’s a real test for them, waiting for this day to come. They’ve passed the test.” He also had a piece of advice for the students, asking them to “stay together.” Actor Shruti Haasan said all the bands worked hard. “Let music stay in you forever and ever,” she added.

Director Gautham Menon and actor Andrea were also present on the occasion.
