The actress is currently busy with wrapping up the shooting schedule of the film. She got talking with City Express about the film.

Her role in the film Chandi she says, is about a girl named Ganga, a family oriented girl who takes revenge on people who have hurt her family. “Due to few incidents she becomes vengeful towards certain people. She is in a vengeful mood and all that rage and anger is directed towards those people who have hurt her family and she goes to any length to get justice,” says Priyamani who has done quite a lot of action sequences like sword fighting in the film. “I don’t have any formal training in doing stunts so it was challenging. But I thank the stunt choreographers who put immense faith in me and showed a lot of patience with me,” states the actress. Praising the stunt choreographers, she explains how they put in a lot of effort in getting her posture right in the fight scenes. “For me it was a new thing, they do it everyday, so we worked on getting my posture right for every frame, getting the precise sharpness in the movements,” states the 29-year old. The actress also has high praise for the film’s director Samudra. “He is a fabulous director and understanding as well. He knows how to take work out of the actor in a smiling way,” says the national award winning actress. The fact that Chandi is a woman centric film doesn’t bother Priyamani. “I don’t want to do back to back woman oriented cinema. So I’m also waiting to do regular commercial cinema. Chandi is a pakka commercial cinema but yes it is heroine oriented,” says Priyamani who has no problems being the eye candy in a film. “I would like to do a film where the heroine can be an eye candy and the hero does all the work. When it comes to heroine oriented film, the entire burden is on her shoulders. For once I want to lighten the burden a bit,” states Priyamani. The talented actress has her kitty full with two Malayalam films and and a Kannada film. “I’m doing a film called True Story and another film meant for film festivals called Painting Life along with Prithiviraj which is directed by Dr Biju in Malayalam. In Kannada I’m doing Ambarisha directed by Mahesh,” says Priyamani.

Chandi is expected to hit theatres in September.
