Heath Ledger was an Australian actor and director best known for his roles in films like 'Brokeback Mountain', '10 Things I hate About You', 'Monster's Ball' and 'The Dark Knight'. He is considered one of the best actors to have graced the screen during a very short career, spanning just 18 films.

He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting actor, posthumously in 2009 for his performance in 'The Dark Knight' (2008), making him the only actor to win an acting Oscar for a comic-book movie.

Heath Ledger was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on January 22nd, 2008, due to an alleged
drug overdose.
